Coe Vanna’s Lake Erie Charter Boat Captains and Guides
Captain Coe Allen Whitt, Captain Dave Whitt
The difference between our charter outfit and Lake Erie’s average outfitters and charters is Captains, boats and equipement. Coe Vanna is above average on all three.
True Lake Erie Charter Boat Captains Defined
Coe Vanna Charters keeps highly skilled dependable full-time Lake Erie charter boat captains – skippers on our staff! I pay my skippers more than the average. This is the difference between our charter rates. A few dollars more split between 4 or 6 people is a small price to pay to ensure yourself a quality fishing trip with a full time experienced local licensed fishing guide -captain. It is hard to find and keep good dependable captains and you certainly have to pay them accordingly. Lake Erie charter captains are no different than any other profession – you get what you pay for.
Captain Dave has over 40 years – Captain Coe Allen 15 years.
Most anyone can get a captain’s license by paying and taking the captain’s course so holding a captain’s license does not make you a good fisherman or people – person. We train our skippers to meet our standards to work with our customers one on one and get the customers into the action!
Coe Vanna Captains go through a full year working as a deckhand aboard our boats first mating with us old fart skippers before we put them to work running our charter customers. Our younger captains are from the local area – they are fisherman’s – captains son’s who grew up fishing on Lake Erie. They have years of fishing and boating experience before they first mate for a year with us to make sure they know all the ropes!
Sometimes one has to listen to their gut instinct and read between the lines. The advertising can be deceiving especially in the day of the internet.
I hope this helped clarify your decision on which outfitter to choose.
